Agropacific, S.A. in Guatemala and Agroproductos Sesame in Venezuela; have been participating in the exportation of Sesame Seed since 1984. Their principal activity is the purchase and exportation of different presentations of Sesame Seed.

The first company, Agropacific, S.A. started to operate in Guatemala in March 1984, date in which the construction of the storage warehouse ended and the first cleaning machine was installed, with which the natural sesame seed exportation started. Starting their principal view, that is still the exportation of quality products and strict cleanliness control.
Agropacific, S.A. expands its operation in the year of 1989; being the first Guatemalan company exporting hulled sesame, at that time. Always concerned in the quality of its exportations; which have been improved every year; thanks to its research department, which is always investigating and acquiring the best of the technology for the cleanness of the products, in orther to improve the quality and processes. Keeping the company in an efficient position in the market. 

In the year of 1992; Agroproductos Sesame, began its operation in Venezuela; starting the sesame business in that country. Being, by the present time, the number one exporter company of Sesame Seed in Venezuela.

Agropacific and Agroproductos Sesame have a Microbiology laboratory with state of the art technology to perform a strict world level quality control, with the newest electronic instruments for grain classification. Our specialists are constantly trained and evaluated.

Production starts under the supervision of farms; from planting to harvesting the seeds in approximately 4 months. Before the packing of the seeds its cleaned, classified, hulled, electronically cleaned and supervised by the bacteriological plague control department. 

Our companies have developed the market through high quality exports and reliable compliance in the delivery commitments, consolidating themselves as the largest sesame exporters in Latin America.

Agropacific, S.A., also participates in the exportation of Tahine (sesame paste used in the receipts of the Middle East Cuisine) and edible oil, since 1979.

Sesame seed

Sesame seed is one of the oldest seeds known to mankind. Sesame probably originates in Asia or East Africa and is now grown in most of the tropical, sub tropical and southern temperate areas of the world. Certain grades of sesame seed, which are white and have a larger sized grain, are used extensively in the cuisines of the Middle East and Asia and as a flavoring/garnishing on bakery and other confectionery items in Europe and North America.

World production of sesame seeds is estimated at 2.5 million tones, of which 70% is consumed in the producing countries itself. Annual trading volumes are estimated at 540,000 mt, Agropacific, S.A. and Agroproductos Sesame, S.A. both have a 10% share of the total trading. Almost the worldwide production grows in Central and South America, Asia and Africa. And the most of the total trading is to Japan, Europe and The United States.
